NextGen Trader Swing Indicator V5
Most algo indicator subscriptions cost $100 or more per month. We built the NextGen Trader Swing Indicator so our students would never have to pay for one. It is included at no additional cost — for life — with enrollment in any NextGen Trader course.
How Does It Work
Three independent signal engines detect reversals, trend continuations, and pullback entries across any stock and any timeframe. Every signal is scored from 0 to 100. A built-in state machine keeps your chart clean with one active signal at a time and tells you when to exit. Select your timeframe, and it configures itself.

NextGen Trader Price Action is a comprehensive institutional-grade price action toolkit for TradingView that consolidates 21 essential features into a single overlay indicator. Designed for both day traders and swing traders, it provides market structure analysis, institutional zone detection, key levels, session tools, Fibonacci retracement, and automated trendlines — all with independent toggles so you control exactly what appears on your chart.
TWO MODES
Day Trade Mode: Shows all features including intraday tools (Opening Range, Initial Balance, VWAP, Developing POC, Pre-Market levels). Optimized for 1-min through 15-min charts.
Swing Trade Mode: Automatically hides intraday-specific features and focuses on structure, institutional zones, key levels, pivots, Fibonacci, and trendlines. Optimized for 1-hour and daily charts.
Custom Mode: Full manual control over every toggle.
🔷 KEY LEVELS
Previous Day High/Low (PDH/PDL) with customizable colors
Previous Week High/Low (PWH/PWL)
Previous Month High/Low (PMH/PML) drawn with heavier weight for visibility
Pre-Market High/Low from the 4:00-9:30 AM ET session (auto-disabled in Swing mode)
🔷 PIVOT ZONES
Four pivot calculation types: Traditional, Fibonacci, Woodie, Camarilla
Auto timeframe selection: Daily pivots for day trading, Weekly for swing trading

Real-time trend tracking displayed in the dashboard
🔷 INSTITUTIONAL ZONES
Order Blocks: Detects the last opposing candle before a strong move (greater than 1.5 ATR). Auto-removes mitigated OBs when price returns to the zone. Capped at a configurable maximum to prevent clutter.
Fair Value Gaps (FVG): Detects three-candle imbalance zones. Auto-removes filled FVGs. Separate colors for bullish and bearish gaps.
Liquidity Sweeps: Highlights when price pierces a swing high/low (stop hunt) then reverses back inside structure.
Equal Highs/Equal Lows: Flags areas where two swing points cluster within ATR tolerance, marking them as liquidity pools.
🔷 DAY TRADE TOOLS (Day Trade mode only)
Opening Range Box: Shaded box showing high/low of the first X minutes after market open (default 5 min) with a 50% midpoint line. Adjustable duration.
Initial Balance Box: Dashed box showing high/low of the first X minutes (default 60 min).
VWAP: Volume Weighted Average Price calculated from session open with configurable standard deviation bands (plus/minus 1 SD, plus/minus 2 SD, or both).
Developing POC: Point of Control showing the price level with highest volume for the current session, updated in real time using a 50-bucket volume profile.
🔷 FIBONACCI RETRACEMENT
Auto-detects the most recent significant swing high and low within a configurable lookback window and draws standard Fibonacci levels between them. Automatically determines swing direction (upswing vs downswing) based on which extreme occurred first.
Levels included (each individually toggleable): 0, 0.236, 0.382, 0.500, 0.618, 0.786, 1.0
Extension levels (optional): 1.272, 1.618
Golden Pocket zone: shaded box between 0.618 and 0.786 highlighting the most important institutional retracement area
The 0.500 level is drawn with heavier weight as a key decision level
All levels auto-update as price action develops and the swing shifts
Off by default — toggle on in settings when needed
🔷 GAP DETECTION

NextGen Momentum Matrix
A multi-component lower-pane oscillator that combines adaptive momentum analysis, institutional flow detection, divergence radar, and real-time confluence scoring into a single indicator.
NextGen Trader Momentum Matrix
NextGen Trader Momentum Matrix is a multi-component lower-pane oscillator that combines adaptive momentum analysis, institutional flow detection, divergence radar, and real-time confluence scoring into a single indicator. Designed as a standalone momentum toolkit or as a complement to the NextGen Trader Price Action overlay indicator, it gives traders a layered read on momentum, institutional activity, and reversal probability — all in one pane.
🔷 MOMENTUM PULSE (Primary Oscillator)
The Momentum Pulse is a normalized adaptive oscillator that reflects price momentum on a 0-100 scale. It is built on a Rate of Change foundation smoothed with an adaptive EMA that speeds up during high-volatility conditions and slows down during quiet markets. This adaptive behavior reduces noise without sacrificing responsiveness to genuine momentum changes.
The Pulse is displayed as a thick gradient line: green when above 50 (bullish momentum), fading to neutral at the midline, and red below 50 (bearish momentum). Overbought (above 80) and oversold (below 20) zones are shaded in the background to highlight extreme readings.
Configurable length and smoothing settings let you adapt the Pulse to any timeframe, from scalping to swing trading.
🔷 TREND RIBBON (Signal Band)
Instead of a single signal line, the Momentum Matrix uses a Trend Ribbon — a dynamic band around the Pulse that adapts to current volatility. When the Pulse breaks above the upper ribbon edge, it signals bullish momentum. When it drops below the lower edge, bearish momentum. When the Pulse is inside the ribbon, momentum is transitioning or neutral.
Two modes available: SMA (fixed-width band) or Adaptive (Keltner-style band that widens during volatile conditions and narrows during quiet conditions). The Adaptive mode naturally filters more noise during choppy markets without requiring manual adjustment.
The area between the Pulse and the nearest ribbon edge fills with color — green when bullish, red when bearish — giving an instant visual read on momentum state.
🔷 INSTITUTIONAL PRESSURE (Secondary Oscillator)
Institutional Pressure is a longer-term oscillator based on volume-weighted price trends using accumulation/distribution logic. It is displayed as a subtle filled area behind the Momentum Pulse, providing context on whether institutional flow supports or contradicts the shorter-term momentum reading.
Green fill above the midline indicates net institutional buying pressure. Red fill below indicates net selling pressure. When the Pulse and Institutional Pressure agree (both bullish or both bearish), conviction is higher. When they diverge, caution is warranted.
The Pressure oscillator uses a longer default length (21 vs 14 for the Pulse), giving it a bigger-picture perspective that complements the more responsive Pulse.
🔷 EXHAUSTION ZONES
Exhaustion detection highlights when Institutional Pressure reaches extreme levels relative to recent history. This is displayed as colored blocks at the very top (bullish exhaustion) or bottom (bearish exhaustion) of the indicator pane.
Exhaustion is a contrarian signal — it suggests that one side of the market may be overextended and a reversal could be approaching. Exhaustion combined with a divergence or an overbought/oversold Pulse reading creates a high-probability reversal setup.
🔷 MOMENTUM SHIFTS
Momentum Shifts are detected when the Pulse crosses through the Trend Ribbon boundaries. These are highlighted with dots on the Pulse line and a subtle background color flash. Shifts that occur from overbought or oversold zones (strong shifts) receive a more prominent highlight, as these represent the highest-conviction momentum changes.
Bullish shift: Pulse crosses above the upper ribbon edge
Bearish shift: Pulse crosses below the lower ribbon edge
Strong bullish shift: Pulse crosses above ribbon from below the oversold zone
Strong bearish shift: Pulse crosses below ribbon from above the overbought zone
🔷 DIVERGENCE RADAR
Real-time divergence detection between price action and the Momentum Pulse. The radar identifies both bullish divergences (price making lower lows while the Pulse makes higher lows) and bearish divergences (price making higher highs while the Pulse makes lower highs).
Divergence lines are drawn directly on the oscillator pane — blue for bullish, red for bearish. An optional setting allows divergence lines to also appear on the price chart for cross-reference.
Divergence sensitivity is configurable: lower lookback values detect more frequent short-term divergences, higher values focus on fewer but more significant longer-term divergences.
🔷 INFLECTION POINTS (Multi-Tier Reversal Signals)
Inflection Points are composite reversal signals that score how many independent components agree on a potential reversal. The indicator checks four factors: Pulse in overbought/oversold territory, momentum shift occurrence, institutional pressure extreme, and active divergence.
Three tiers based on the number of agreeing factors:
Minor (circle): 1 factor — early warning, lower probability
Major (triangle): 2 factors — meaningful reversal signal
Critical (diamond): 3 or more factors — highest probability reversal, all components aligned
Critical inflection points are the most powerful signals the indicator produces. When three or more independent components all point to reversal at the same time, the probability of a significant turn increases substantially.
🔷 CONVICTION SCORE
The Conviction Score is a real-time 0-100 measurement of total bullish vs bearish agreement across all components. Displayed as a small table in the bottom-right corner with both the percentage and a plain-language classification.
75-100%: Strong Bull — most components aligned bullish
60-74%: Lean Bull — moderate bullish tilt
40-59%: Neutral — mixed signals
26-39%: Lean Bear — moderate bearish tilt
0-25%: Strong Bear — most components aligned bearish
The score accounts for trend-following factors (Pulse position, Ribbon state, Institutional Pressure direction) and contrarian factors (exhaustion and divergence are scored inversely since they suggest potential reversal against the current trend).
🔷 ALERT SYSTEM
10 alert conditions available:
Bullish and Bearish Momentum Shifts
Strong Bullish and Bearish Shifts (from OB/OS zones)
Bullish and Bearish Divergences
Critical Bullish and Bearish Inflection Points
Bullish and Bearish Exhaustion Zones
Dynamic alerts include the current Pulse value, factor count, and Conviction Score in the message for full context.
🔷 INPUTS OVERVIEW
Momentum Pulse: Length (14), Smoothing (5)
Trend Ribbon: Method (SMA/Adaptive), Length (8), Width (1.0)
Institutional Pressure: Length (21), Smoothing (8)
Exhaustion: Threshold (85)

🔷 DESIGNED TO COMPLEMENT
The Momentum Matrix is designed to work alongside the NextGen Trader Price Action indicator. Price Action provides the structural context (where to trade) while the Momentum Matrix provides the timing context (when to trade). Together they form a complete analytical framework.
The Momentum Matrix also works as a standalone indicator for traders who want a multi-component momentum toolkit without an overlay indicator.
